Berger Recovering After Ski Fall

Former Formula One driver Gerhard Berger is recovering from a ski fall on Austrian slopes last week.

The 54-year-old Austrian was skiing when he fell heavily off-piste in poor conditions last Thursday. However, he is believed to have escaped serious injury and was treated for arm injuries at the St Johann am Tirol hospital.

The fall comes as Michael Schumacher spends his seventy-first day in a medically induced coma after suffering a serious head injury while skiing at the French Meribel Ski resort on December 29th last.

Berger drove for ATS, Arrows, Benetton, Ferrari and McLaren during his fourteen-year career, taking ten race victories. He also part-owned the Scuderia Toro Rosso team until 2008.
