Calado Signs Third Driver Contract With Force India

Britain’s James Calado has been signed as Force India’s third driver.

The ART GP2 driver had mileage with the team during July’s Young Driver Test at Silverstone and most recently won the GP2 Sprint Race at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Calado will be in the cockpit straight away, getting behind the wheel for FP1 at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix. Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg, who have both driven for Force India, were also given third driver status before being promoted to a full-time race seat.

Marussia’s Max Chilton also took on a third-driver role with Marussia last September before being bumped up to the front line for 2013.
