Sebastian Vettel has signed a contract extension which will see the triple World Champion staying with the team until the end of 2015, at least.
“Infiniti Red Bull Racing is happy to confirm that World Champion Sebastian Vettel has extended his multi-year contract with the team until the end of 2015” read a short press release from the team.
Vettel was brought through the ranks with Red Bull’s Junior Team, joining Toro Rosso before progressing to the more senior Red Bull sister team, where he has remained alongside Mark Webber since 2009. He has led the team to three consecutive constructor championships since 2010, aswell as claiming the driver’s title in all three years.
While Vettel has now cemented his place at the team for the immediate future, the same cannot be said for his more experienced team-mate Mark Webber. The 36-year-old Aussie is strongly suspected to be making a move to Le Mans with Porshce for 2014.
Kimi Raikkonen, who was sponsored by Red Bull during his two-year stint in the World Rally Championship, is the leading contender to take his seat should Webber leave the team.
