Silverstone Reportedly Set To Hold Young Driver Test

Germany’s Auto Moto und Sport is reporting that Silverstone could be set to hold a mid-season young drivers test.

The test, which gives drivers in feeder series such as GP2 the chance to sample an F1 car, is usually held after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Last year however, two tests were held, with some teams opting to test at the British circuit.

According to Auto Moto und Sport, Silverstone will be the only track available for the young drivers test this year, and will be held just before the month-long summer break. Reportedly, the 11 teams have agreed to the test at Silverstone and it will be held between July 17th and 19th.

So far, neither the FIA nor any teams have commented either way.
