Romain Grosjean will drop five grid places for the American Grand Prix tomorrow after changing his gearbox post FP3.
The Lotus driver had to pull into the pits with 15 minutes remaining during FP3 with Gearbox problems and as a result, he did not get a low fuel run on option tires, as the closing minutes of the Saturday session is often used for. The Frenchman will be hoping to get an off numbered grid slot (1st, 3rd, 5th etc.) as the left hand side (Even numbers) of the grid is expected to be massively lacking in grip, which could cause a driver to loose several places off the line.
Perez was also in trouble this weekend. The Mexican driver slammed into the side of Frenchman Charles Pic, sending both drivers spinning around. Yet, he evaded punishment, despite being reprimanded for impeding and fined for speeding in the pitlane already this weekend.
