Perez could miss Indian Practice

Doubt has been cast over Sergio Perez’s fitness for tomorrow’s practice session after cancelling all media commitments due to falling ill.

Perez, who will be replacing Lewis Hamilton next year at McLaren is fighting a heavy cold. He has been forced to cancel all media commitments for today and instead returned to the hotel in an attempt to recover in time for Saturday’s Practice 3 and Qualifying session.

If Perez does miss practice, Fellow Mexican Esteban Gutierrez, who has been linked to a seat with Sauber in 2013, could get his first weekend outing with the team.

The last time Perez missed a Grand Prix was the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix, the first race after his heavy shunt at the Monaco Grand Prix, where he was replaced by McLaren test driver, Pedro De La Rosa.
