Sutil faces one year in prison

Former Force India driver Adrian Sutil is to face trial in Germany, charged with Grievous Bodily Harm. This relates to the incident with Lotus (Formally Renault) owner Eric Lux. On the weekend of the chinese Grand Prix in a night club called M1nt in Shanghai. Mr. Sutil allegedly threw a glass at Mr. Lux, Slitting his neck, Narrowly missing a major artery and leaving him bleeding. Mr. Lux required 24 stitches.

After the altercation, Sutil released the following statement “At the event, which I attended as a private person, something happened which was a very unfortunate action on my part. I injured another person completely unintentionally. I regret the incident very much and have apologised…”

It was believed that this incident had been forgotten until Mr. Lux announced on May 17th that he would press charges. Mr Lux had this to say “In view of the recent events which occurred in Shanghai on 17 April, Mr Eric Lux has decided to file a criminal complaint against Mr Adrian Sutil for physical assault and grievous bodily harm”

It is believed that McLaren Ace Lewis Hamilton was a witness of the event, while out celebrating with Sutil and was rushed out by his bodygaurds when the events began.

Adrian Sutil could face a jail sentence of up to one year if he is found guilty.

Meanwhile, This is big news for the “Who will Williams pick” Question as the two front runners were Sutil and Brazillian, Rubens Barrichello.
